Applying English

Using sidespin in billiards is important for the game. As a billiards player, it’s also important that you know when to use or not to use it. Nowadays, sidespin is also referred to as english. This technique is used to get an advantage on the next object ball that is used. It can also be implemented when you want to prevent a scratch or use a unique way to pocket a ball.

In order to be competitive, you must be proficient with position play. The direction that the cue ball rolls in is not connected to English. In addition to using it for difficult shots, there are also lots of variables with it. You may have to make contact with the object ball if there is a curve in the cue ball before it gets to the object ball. You will have to implement a more accurate shot which may not help your chances.

A lot of the billiard players incorporate side english in their game. However, most of the top players will rarely use it, if at all. Not using it helps them to increase their chance of making most if not all of their shots and pocket balls on a regular basis. Which increases their rate of scoring.
