Applying English

A throw technique is another kind of english used when playing billiards. The cue ball makes contact with the object ball; the spin goes to the object ball. However, this is done the opposite of what its usual format. With the spin and the object ball, the spin is thrown the other way.

When you use english throws with a cue ball, the object ball is thrown by it. The cue ball that has left english then throws it to the right. For instance, The cue ball that has right english makes a spin that is counter clockwise. When it touches the object ball, the spin causes a clockwise motion on the object ball.

The object ball is thrown to the left (where the red line is). An object ball that has an expanded hit is executed with the object ball pocketed. This is done with the throw technique. Look at the white line to see if no english was executed on the cue ball. This is the original way for the object ball.

When you use the throw, it has to include how much spin is on the cue ball. There will be more throw if there is more spin. Using a softer stroke will provide more effect for a throw than a harder stroke will.

The balls are considered to be thrown when they are moved from their normal process of english. They can also be thrown from dents that come from the table. If the ball goes in the pocket and is acknowledged, then the throw is not recognized. Also, the shots that are simple are not being made.

There are some professional billiards players that use a little outside english to help the ball get centered and to seal their pocketing of the ball. The outside english helps to block the throw when it collides. The balls stay together for less than a second before separating and going their separate ways.

The cue ball car rolls around the circular area of the object ball. This helps to experience less cling. This is like when you have two gears that roll among each other. They work to grind down on each other and going through a machine. They move away from where they are supposed to be and they don’t’ use the effect from outside english.

You really have to pay attention when you’re doing this technique, otherwise you could get lost in it.
